What’s in a name? ENSOhello

Ensō (pronounced en-ZOH)

It starts with ensō, a circle drawn in Japanese Zen art. Artists paint it in a single breath, in one brushstroke. It can be open or closed, perfect or imperfect. The ensō celebrates freedom, imperfection, and the beauty of a moment in motion. To me, it’s the symbol of creative flow.

Creative flow is what I feel in the studio when I’m painting: completely absorbed, time falling away, every brushstroke alive and effortless. My focus is one with the canvas, my paints, my brushes. It’s calm but electric, like being inside another world. That’s the feeling I crave when I create.

hello

The hello part is about connection and storytelling. It’s a greeting. An invitation. A conversation. Sharing our story with a friend feels natural and easy, while being “put on the spot” can lock us up. I want ENSOhello to feel more like a conversation with a friendly assistant than another task on your to-do list—something that helps you open up, rather than shut down.

The spark that ignited an idea

Like many people, when it comes to managing my own social media, the last thing I feel is creative flow. I’m often overthinking captions, second-guessing what to post, resizing, reformatting, and getting lost in busywork.

I wondered, why can’t the process of sharing my work—and helping other artists share theirs—feel more like the Zen state of flow, not a series of frustrating interruptions? And how can I create an environment that feels inviting and safe, making it easier to express ourselves while allowing others to get to know the real us?

Imagine how much easier social media marketing could be if we only had to focus on the 20% that requires our unique insights and creativity, while letting technology handle the 80% that bogs us down and pulls us out of our creative flow.

AI as supporter, not replacement

Many artists worry that AI will replace us and our craft. I see it differently. We can train AI to work for us—handling the tedious, repetitive parts—so we are free to focus on the work only we can do.

ENSOhello is a personal marketing assistant. The more we talk and converse together, the better it is. It’s trained to help find and share our unique stories and perspectives. The more our assistant learns our voice, our quirks, our style, the more it supports us. It can help us loosen up, experiment, and connect in ways we may never have imagined.

Enso + hello

ENSOhello is both art and connection—a reflection of what this new marketing tool for artists and solopreneurs is all about. It’s not designed to make our work “perfect.” It’s here to help us share our authentic voices, spark conversations, and show up consistently in a way that feels easy and natural. ENSOhello is the tool I want in my own creative life. And that’s what ENSOhello aims to be for you.
